스포츠 페어플레이의 규범적 정당화 문제

국문 초록 (Abstract)

스포츠의 고도화, 전문화, 대중화 현상은 이에 귀속된 스포츠 선수들로 하여금 사적영역의 축소를 야기하였다. 스포츠 선수의 프라이버시는 공인으로서 부과되는 책임과 의무 앞에 해체된 것이다. 이 같은 사실은 선수의 사생활 문제가 더 이상 일반사회의 윤리문제로 해결될 수 있는 보편성에 기반하고 있는 문제가 아니라 스포츠 영역의 특수한 도덕률에 의해 판단되는 스포츠 윤리에 배속되었음을 의미한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스포츠 영역의 특수성을 전제로 페어플레이, 스포츠맨십과 같은 스포츠 규범의 지배를 받고 있는 스포츠 선수들의 도덕성 문제가 사적 영역에서 발생하는 문제들까지 확대될 수 있는가를 검토하고, 이에 대한 규범적 정당화를 시도하였다. 이것은 의무론과 목적론으로 대변되는 규범윤리학의 잣대에서 선수의 사생활 문제로 인한 규범위반 사례들이 어떻게 이해되어야 할 것인가에 대한 문제로서 스포츠 선수들의 사적 문제들이 스포츠 정신을 훼손하는가를 묻는 것과 동시에 확장된 의미에서 일반인들이 갖는 스포츠 규범에 대한 올바른 이해를 도모하는 것이다. 이 문제에 대한 결론은 스포츠 규범이 갖고 있는 특수성은 규범적 정당화 과제 앞에 무력하다고 주장함으로서 향후 스포츠 윤리는 보다 발전된 개념과 이론들을 통해 검토되어야 한다고 보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The phenomena of advancement, specialization and popularization in sport have caused sport players to reduce enjoyment in their life of privacy. The privacy of sport players is dissolved in face of responsibilities and duties imposed on them as public persons. This fact implies that the issue of their privacy is not a universal question within the reach of moral issue in our society any longer, but is credited to sports ethics which depends on special moral code in sports world. Thus, on the premise of such specialty inherent in sports world, this study sought to examine if moral issues of sports players who are subject to sports norms such as fair play and sportsmanship could be extended into even issues occurring in their life of privacy, so that it could try to find possible normative justifications for such extension. As a result, this study could come to a conclusive argument that the specialty of sports norm could not give any normative justification within the framework of normative theories such as deontology, traditional utilitarianism, modified utilitarianism and prescriptivism. And it was concluded that sports ethics is a field that must be justified through new concepts fit for specialty.
