This study examined the new approaches to the understanding of human movement. Human movement is reviewed in three aspects, or information-processing perspective, dynamic perspective, ecological psychology perspective.
Among the three aspects, ecological psychology perspective was to try to understand human movement by using three concepts of direct perception, affordance, invariants. Especially, direct perception in the related to the understanding of human movement is a very important factor in the ecological psychology perspective. That is, it was understood that in the information-processing perspective, human movement about the inflowed external information was formed by hierarchical control structure. But it was understood that in the ecological psychology perspective, human movement about the inflowed external information was formed by causal control structure.
Therefore, ecological psychology perspective about the human movement is very suitable for explaining motor performance formed mainly by using visual perception information of postural control, locomotion, downhill behavior of skiing, long jumping, etc.
