Recently types of works, working places, and workforce are fundamentally changing with technology evolution and labor market environment. The situation becomes more critical with the emergence of knowledge-based economy. With the drastic transition from industrial age to information age and then to the knowledge age, the complexity at the workplace is steadily increasing. Emerging working places need knowledge-based skilled workforce for sustaining employability. In this paper we argue that while learning through facts, drill and practices, rules and procedures was more adaptive in earlier days, now learning through projects and problems, inquiry and design, discovery and invention, creativity and diversity, action and reflection is more fitting in the present times to develop knowledge based skilled workforce at an accelerated speed for sustainability of employment in knowledge economy.
