외국인 체류자 증가에 따른 사회문제의 유형과 실태분석

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper deals with the social problems and conflicts which have followed the increase of foreigners in Korea. Since 1990, the number of guest workers and international marriages has increased and new social problems have occurred in Korean society. The social problems which have occurred in Korean society following the increase in foreigners was analyzed and the possibility of changes and a new direction for government are suggested. Among the social problems which have followed the increase in foreigners are undocumented residents, human rights infringement, international marriage immigration and social integration, social crimes by foreigners, cultural discord, and communication problems. According to this analysis the results are that undocumented residency and human rights infringement that appeared with the increase in foreigners after 1990 are difficult, as are international marriage immigration and understanding the cultural differences and traditional Korean values. Social crime by foreigners has increased steadily, especially in foreign settlements. It was analyzed it is urgent to overcome cultural discord and communication problems. The conclusion is that the central government and regional governments need to change the policy for the social integration of the foreigners from a macroscopic viewpoint with public financial support, and assistance to local residents in achieving the same view. Finally, a connection must be prepared for the construction of a global network with civil society, the religious groups, and public enterprises.
