The purpose of this study is to examine the trend of media on tourism in GyeongBuk province by reviewing the newspaper articles and suggest the implication on tourism policy and development. From the results of the review, news articles on tourism in GyeongBuk were rapidly increased from 2007 and over 40 articles were appeared per year since then. The subject of the articles was mainly about tourism resources and product and 68.2% of the total articles was reviewed positively. The articles on Daegu, Gyeongju, and Andong were over 50% of the total articles, and these articles were mainly about cultural and eco tourism. The tour activity of trekking was first appeared in the news article in 2007 and has been steadily reported since then. Event and exhibition was issued at the year that held mega-event in the area. The results of the analysis on news value of the articles on tourism in GyeongBuk show that most of articles on tourism resources, product, and tourism transportation place value on informative function, however the articles on tourism development, policy, tourism behavior, and tourism industry focused on the aspect of conflict in the problem.
