다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is a study on kim, So-wol's poetics to investigate into chara-
cter of Korean modern literature. Kim's poetics agreed with ideas of roma-
nticism which ideas esteemed personality and would realize a perfection of
self. These ideas were coincided with the conciousness of Korean people of
the times.
At the time, new value system of spirit were required in Korea, owing to
falling Korean dynasty that maintained Confucian order, marked ideas of
classism.
The western trend of literature were a stimulant to Korean literature, not
a matter transplant into it. Accordingly, the author deny the theory of dis-
continuity of tradition in Korean literature.
This thesis is an essay. So it leaves some subjects to study on the genera-
lity of the theory.
