The purpose of this study is to examine morphologic changes of the teeth by era through metric and non metric investigation of the human teeth in Southern part of the Korea and inquiring into the process through which teeth of the Korean people have changed from the prehistoric to the present day, making comparisons of excavated Korean teeth with that of the modern times. Furthermore, this study examined the characteristics of Korean teeth by making comparisons with that of other, ethnic groups in the Siberia. With respect to changing measurement values by the times. it revealed that the measured length of the Crown generally tend to increase as time passes toward the modern times. Nevertheless, mesio-distal diameter and facio-lingual diameter, and the remaining items, tend to increase and decrease repeatedly on every period. and are inclined to decrease in modern times. The change in the mesio-distal dimeter of the Crown-Cervix by era is relatively slight as opposed to that of other items revealing almost no differences of times. This comparative data available for shoveling are baseed on HrdliCka`s four grade scheme. Contrasting all other ethics groups, Korean people exhibit shovel-shaped incisor, Distal trigonid crest and deflecting wringkle in relatively high frequence. Interestingly, Korean have lower frequences of Carabelli`s traits, a marked contrast to the high frequences in Westen Eurasian. Based on the distribution pattern of dental traits, the Koreans posses lineages from both a high proportion of north-east Asian population as well as south-predominent groups of east Asian populations.
