      The purpose of this study is targeted at Intermediate Korean language learners and found the most difficult factors and the need of reading ability when they are reading, and propose corresponding educational program in order to improve the reading ability. Reading is a process of communicating with others through the eyes and words. Every day we have to read a lot of information. Just like we open our eyes in the morning, we start reading. It is an important behavior and cannot be separated with our life. It’s not just read the information that we see from the text or video. Because the message that the author wants to convey will not be reflected directly in the article, but expressed through the connection between meanings and grammars. Readers contacted the text like this not only have to grasp the Explicit Knowledge, but also have to know the Implicit Knowledge of the text. This paper is focusing on the inferential reading which is a kind of the types of reading.
      In order to achieve such a purpose, deep interviews and questionnaires survey, and material analysis method were used. With this series of studies the necessity of this study was determined and its contents were categorized. According to these, a feasible education program for Korean learners was proposed to improve the inferential reading ability of them.
      The thesis contains the following chapters: The first chapter discloses the necessity and objective of this study. The second chapter discusses key words and theoretical backgrounds related to inferential reading. The third chapter collects and analyzes data as a prerequisite step to proposing corresponding educational program of inferential reading, selects the contents and suggests the educational program of inferential reading education. Finally the last chapter of this study reviews contents discussed in earlier chapters, states the significance and limits of this study, and concludes this study by suggesting a further study direction.
