다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

The purpose of this study is to delve into the change of noun clauses to mean diversity in the formation of [a N1 of N2], with N1 functioning as the head of the noun phrase and later changing to a quantifier modifying N2. The focused phrases in the formation are a variety of, a range of, and an array of, which mean 'various' and modify the following N2. In this study, we will investigate noun phrases that function as quantifiers through the lens of grammaticalization principles and mechanisms such as generalization, metonymy, subjectification, intersubjectification, reanalysis, and analogy. In the pathway of grammaticalization, semantically, the words variety, range, and array are used in a lexical sense to indicate 'difference, diversity,' 'a row, series, or line,' and 'arrangement in line or ranks,' respectively. The source meanings were broadened or diluted and now function as modifiers indicating diversity, which inherently implies difference. Additionally, the phrases a variety of, a range of, and an array of will be quantitatively analyzed using corpus data to identify their collocations and characteristics in distribution.
