한국사회 비혼의 인구사회학적 특성 = Sociodemographis Factors in Non-Marriages in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Using data, 「The 2009 National Surveys of Marriage and Live Birth」(of the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs), this paper studies the increase of non-marriages in Korea. Three types of non-married people are identified, namely traditional, transitional and marriage market mismatch. Analysis was done with multinomial logistic regression using the type of non-marriage as the dependent variable. Traditional non-marriages are related with younger age, less education, and lower level of employment status. Men show higher probability in this type. Transitional non-marriages are related with younger age, more education, and medium level of employment status. Women show relatively higher probability in this type. Mismatch non-marriages are related with higher age, higher level of employment status. In terms of educational level, women with higher education and men with lower education show slightly higher probability in this type.
