An optimal descriptive rule set discovery method for the databases of E-commerce is suggested. The main purpose of the method is to comprise user's interests and domain knowledge in found rule sets to find potential customers. For the target databases of high dimension and large volume that are most common in E-commerce databases, it takes advantages of the fact that more general concepts occur more frequently and that users' intention of knowledge discovery is to find some hidden information that governs some substantial portion of the database. A modified association rule finding algorithm is applied in stepwise manner to target database, database decision table, which has condition and decision attributes.
