Although the remarried family has become an increasingly common family form in Korea, there is a lack of social and academic attention to it. Rather many myths and prejudice surround remarriage family, which results little efforts to help them in spite of many problems they encounter. The purpose of this article is to explore the role strain of remarried mothers and its associated variables based on empirical research findings. Our findings show remarriage after divorce is no longer unfamiliar phenomena. At the same time, social stigma given to it is decreasing rapidly. The samples of stepmothers reveal their satisfaction and do not reveal serious problems in their marriage. Only the issues related to stepchildren are found to be problematic. Also the research results report the stepmothers find difficulty in their role functioning a little bit.
