The purpose of this study is to find to relationship among parents child-rearing attitudes which are perceived by child, ego-resiliency, and conflict resolution strategies in childrens friendship.
The object of this study were 407 children in 5th and 6th grade of elementary school in Gyunggi-do.
The measuring instruments used for study were Parents Child-rearing Attitudes developed by Oh and Lee(1982), the Questionnaire of Ego-resiliency developed by Park(1996) and a Scale on Friendship Conflict Resolution Strategies(Rhee, Koh & Oh, 2000).
The collected data was analyzed by SPSSWIN statistical program. The frequency and percentage were calculated to investigate the general characteristics of the subjects. Multiple Regression was performed to find out the relationship among parents child-rearing attitudes, ego-resiliency, and conflict resolution strategies in childrens friendship.
The major results of this study are as follows;
First, concerning about ego-resiliency and parents child-rearing attitudes, when child perceived about parents child-rearing attitudes more positively, level of childs ego-resiliency was higher. Specially, when child perceived fathers child-rearing attitudes as love, and mothers attitudes as achievements, their ego-resiliency was high.
Second, in research of the relationship between parents child-rearing attitudes which perceived by child and conflict resolution strategies in childrens friendships, the more positively child perceived about parents child-rearing attitudes, the more sociable strategies they used. Specially, when child perceived both of parents child-rearing attitudes as achievements, children used compromising-integrating strategies.
