대안학교 교육과정에 대한 대안적 범주 탐색 = Revisiting the in-formality of the alternative school curriculum

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 대안학교가 운영하고 있는 교육과정, 특히 교육과정 운영의 형식성에 주안점을 두고 ‘대안성’의 의미를 찾아보고자 하였다. 대안교육을 표방하고 있는 현행 학교들이 교육과정 내지는 그 운영에 있어서의 형식성을 탈피하고자 하는 취지에 대체로 합의하고 있다는 전제 하에, 형식적 교육과정 운영에 대한 대안적 범주가 무엇인지 탐색해보고, 이렇게 설정된 대안적 범주에 비추어 실제 운영 사례들에서 나타나는 다양한 특징들을 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 교육과정 운영에 있어서의 형식성을 출석에 의한 이 수제, 학교 밖 경험학습에 대한 인정, 교과 재구성의 정도에서 찾아보고자 하였다. 현재 대안학교들이 내세우는 대안이라는 이념에 걸맞게 그 실천이 운영될 수 있는지 그 가능성과 한계의 범위에 관해 타진해 볼 수 있는 의미있는 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 연구의 대상은 제도권에 편입되어 학력을 인정받고 있는 대안 고등학교로 제한해서 보기로 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study proposes to bring into view the idea that we need to revisit in the perspective of the alternativeness which alternative schools have addressed, if alternative schools have given efforts to get out of the formal character of institutionalization which one could find in a public school curriculum. This problematic requires one to reconceptualize the curriculum as an institutional apparatus. The formal character of curriculum can be found in the institutionalized fonn of school organization - structure, sequence, completion, e.g., professional role of teacher, classroom attendance, grade by age, the accreditation of experiential learning outside classrooms. Revisiting alternative schools by examining the institutional character of school curriculum shows one of perspectives with which one could analyze the alternativeness which alternative schools address.
