With slightly varying the mole fractions(x=0.02, 0.00, -0.02 mole) of lithium, the properties such as yields of the preparation, crystallographic symmetries, nonstoichiometric formulas, and electrical conductivity changes of the Li1-xCoO2-y system were investigated. It was found that the three samples have hexagonal symmetries and with the increase of x values, the unit cells were slightly increased. Indirect iodometric titration enabled the measurements of the amounts of Co4+ and O2-. The nonstoichiometric chemical formulas of each samples were : LCO-1 : Li+0.98Co3+0.965Co4+0.035O2-2.008, LCO-2 : Li+1.00Co3+0.972Co4+0.028O2-2.014, LCO-3 : Li+1.02Co3+0.984Co4+0.016O2-2.018. In the temperature range of 293-673 K, electrical conductivity data were accumulated at the interval of 50K and the conductivity values were in the range of –2.9~-5.1 (Ω·cm) -1.
