韓國<兄弟投金>說話의 硏究 = The Study of Korea's Legendary Tales[兄弟投金: Brothers' Thrown the Gold]

This manuscript is concerned with the literary transmission and the changing Confucian aspect of Korea's folktales (兄弟投金: Brothers' Thrown the Gold) as both Korea and China's several transmitted literatures (大智度論), [法苑珠林], (高麗史), [新增東國輿地勝覽], [天中記]). Those are the 1.anslation of Buddhist Classics tales in Chinese and were accepted in Korea. They also were transmitted to China. They have studied in mentality argument's angle that it was altered and accepted in Confucianist's angle, which was the translation of Buddhist classics legendary tales in Chinese when it was accepted in Korea.
Korea's tale (兄弟投金: Brothers' Thrown the Gold) is organized in three stages "before getting the gold, after getting the gold, after throwing the gold" to show the process of human nature's recovery in order to prove a mental argument clearly in metaphysics, but Buddhist classics' tale [兄弟投金: Brothers' Thrown the Gold] established only two stages to emphasize the Dana (Buddhist offering). In its case of Korea's tale, "before throwing the Sold" is the situation of nature's virtue to maintain the original nature as it is. However "after getting the gold", the situation is changed, so a younger brother Is greedy and he hit upon keeping aloof from his brother. At this point, he is the same as his younger brother, too. Because of the gold, brotherliness seems to be broken off. When the mirrors become dirt and water looks thick, a true picture of the moon can't be seen. On the contrary, when the mirrors become clear and its water looks clear, a true
picture of its moon can be seen.
After losing their minds, they should have thrown the gold in order to restore their original natures. Then their greed would disappear, and the inborn good disposition, that is, the original nature would be restored. The situation restored their original nature.
However the Buddhist tale is unusual in that it emphasized the Dana. As the cause of various agonies and sins are good, it is a tale that presents agonies and sins as the Dana and emphasize entering into Nirvana.
Accordingly, this paper did not take notice of the study of folklore tale but the legendary literature studies which were taken from the literature transmission of the leisured classes and intellectuals, especially, it is the manuscript which took a look into the Inclination of consciousness of Confucianism or a fragment of aesthetic consciousness.
Through those papers, the same folkrales are accepted by the high classes and the low classes of Koreans. This paper has been proved to have been accepted differently according to social position, and it confirmed the great stratum in regard to "the tales of the leisured classes · the intellectuals" and "the tales of fo1k1ore" in Korea, for a well-balanced understanding of Korea's legendary tales generally in the future' importing the tales of folklore and the collection of the books on ethics and history tales were embossed with a necessity which was considered in concentration.
