A kind of armors is following.
The Old Choson continuously produced bone armors in many areas from the beginning to fall. The pieces of bone armors featured long square. In case of bronze armors, the Old Choson made bronze fancy buttons in the B.C. 25, used it to normal dress and ornaments, and applied it to armor and helmet. In case of iron armors, the Old Choson used iron fancy buttons to structural elements of the armors in the B.C. 12. And the Old Choson made the scalelike armors in the B.C. 3. The age of starting of production is the earliest in the East Asia.
The characteristic of the material and feature of the armors are following.
In case of leather, the Old Choson produced unique high one and normal one, and exported these to China. The normal one is given much weight in the materials of the armors. In case of bronze, many bronze ware and pieces of the armors which were excavated unearthed in the Korea Peninsula and Manchuria had a large quantity of lead at the beginning. Lead raises intensity of an alloy of bronze with Su, presents to rust, and lowers the temperature of molding. At that time, bronze wares or pieces of armor in China were in short supply of Su and didn’t have the others like lead. So the level of molding bronze in China didn’t reach the level in the Old Choson. The molding skill is different to Siberia or U.S.S.R. which used arsenic. So we see that the skill in ancient Korea was originally developed unconcerning with China and North area. In case of iron, the Old Choson produced iron in the B.C. 12 and produced cast iron, pig iron and steel from cast iron and used it to weapon, armor, tool, farm machines and so on. At the age of Hsi Han Empire the manufacturing technique comparatively developed but didn’t reach the level of the Old Choson. The iron-manufacturing and steel-making skill comparatively developed in the middle period of Tung Han Empire, and reached the level of the Old Choson in the age of Liang Chin Nan Pei Chao.
As mentioned above, the Old Choson originally made the bone armors, the leather armor, and the bronze armors firstly in the East Asia. And the excellent manufacturing skill of the armors was connected by the age of the Powers.
