한국의 해외진출기업 국내로의 U턴 결정요인 분석과 시사점 = 중국ㆍ베트남ㆍ인도네시아 진출 기업을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since the global financial crisis, the factors attracting the foreign direct investment of Korean enterprises have been weakened due to the change of Asian markets such as China and Vietnam. Since 2004, there has been more interest in which overseas local subsidiaries make a U-turn to the domestic market. The media has indicated that the government policy is not enough to support those from 2009. The interests returning to the domestic market continues to be raised in terms of the economic revitalization of local government in 2011. This study empirically analyzes the factors determining Uturn to the domestic market by local subsidiaries in the overseas market with binomial logistic model. It also derives implementations in terms of enterprises and government.
The results of the empirical analysis are as follows: the larger investment of oversea affiliated company, the fewer those making U-turn to the domestic market. In addition, the overseas affiliated company producing the fading products or whose competitiveness is only the low cost are more likely to make a U-turn. On the other hand, the larger capital stock of overseas affiliated company has, the higher possibility of making a U-turn. Although the overseas affiliated companies have the burden of high labor costs as the total number of employees is larger, it is reported that they have lower possibility to make a U-turn.
