예비 초등교사들의 진화 현상 설명에 관한 연구 = A Study on Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers` Explanations of Evolutionary Phenomena

The purpose of this study is to investigate relations between pre-service elementary school teachers` explanation of evolutionary phenomena and stages based on science history. The study was conducted by 401 pre-service elementary school teachers at `G` National University of Education. The questionnaire consisted of multiple-choice qsuestions regarding mechanism, time, subject, and direction of evolution. The test results were analyzed in accordance with 4 stages based on science history. The process of evolution concept changes in history is divided into 4 different stages - stage 1 (Before Lamarck), stage 2 (Lamarck), stage 3 (Darwin), stage 4 (After Darwin). A large percentage of individuals surveyed believed the stage 2. The results showed that there were no significant differences in a course of high school, sex, and religion except one item (time of variation in a course) (p<0.05).
