사회과교육을 받은 인간: 사회과교육의 관점에 관한 재고찰 = The Educated Person in Social Studies: Revisited Perspectives on Social Studies Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study starts from the awareness of problem that teaching and learning do not occur in social studies classrooms, revisits the perspectives on social studies education, and explores ‘the educated person in social studies’ which each perspective expects through teaching social studies. Based on this review, this study distinguishes the perspectives on social studies education as transmission of cultural heritage, social scientific inquiry, individual development, reflective inquiry, and social transformation. And this study identifies conformist functional person, social scientific inquirer, social self-actualizer, reflective decision maker, and transformative vanguardist as‘the educated person in social studies.’ Finally, this study emphasizes social studies education of which goal is to foster transformative vanguardist and method is reflective inquiry. And this study makes suggestions for teacher education, curriculum and teaching, and further research.
