‘즐거운 수업’에 대한 교사의 인식과 실천에 관한 내러티브 탐구 = Narrative Inquiry on a Teacher's Awareness and Practice of an ‘Enjoyable Class’

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

‘Enjoyment,’ an extension of positive emotions felt in various ways and intensity, is one of the essential values of human activities. The enjoyment in a class situation implies more than just emotional status, which a teacher and students experience during class. An enjoyable class is related to a kind of a class climate ‘arising’ out of a situation and process of the class, which is not formed by adding emotional factors or methodological options, and at the same time is not fixed by a particular format. An enjoyable class, which is not only flexible but also individually unique, can be actualized and have significance only with reflective and confessional introspection.
This study focuses on ‘teacher's awareness and practice’ of an enjoyable class with the premise that an enjoyable class is significant in creating conditions for facilitating successful learning for students. Another significance of this study is that it tries to actualize the meaning of an enjoyable class, which is a journey to pursue educational meanings by reflecting the teacher's narrative of class experience through the lens of ‘enjoyment.’How the enjoyable class for participants were understood by the research participants determined the outcome of the class influenced largely by the teacher's belief system of ‘knowledge-in-itself’ and ‘education-in-itself.’ Sometimes such a consequential awareness can create another dilemma in class situations.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

‘즐거움’은 다양한 방식과 강도로 느껴지는 긍정적인 감정의 연속선으로 인간 활동의 핵심적 가치 중 하나이다. 수업상황에서 즐거움은 단순히 수업에서 교사와 학생들이 경험하는 정서적 상태 이상의 의미를 함의한다. 즐거운 수업은 수업상황과 수업과정으로부터 ‘생겨나는’ 일종의 수업분위기와 관련된 것으로, 정서적 요인을 첨가하거나 방법적 선택을 통해 만들어지는 것이 아니며, 특정한 형식으로 고정되어 있지 않다. 즐거운 수업은 유동적이며 개별적 특수성을 지니며, 당사자의 수업 활동에 대한 반성적이고 고백적인 성찰을 통해 구체화되고 의미화 될 수 있을 뿐이다.
본 연구는 학생들의 성공적인 배움을 돕는 조건을 창출하는 중요한 지점이라는 점에서 즐거운 수업에 대한 ‘교사의 인식과 실천’에 초점을 맞추었다. 이는 수업 경험에 대한 교사들의 내러티브를 ‘즐거움’이라는 렌즈를 통해 성찰함으로써 즐거운 수업의 의미를 구체화하고 교육적인 이해를 모색해가는 과정이라는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.
참여자들에게 있어 교사 개인의 교육적 지향과 관련된 인식과 신념은 수업상황에서 나타나는 학생들의 수업행위에 대해 각기 다른 이해를 가져오면서 각기 다른 교사 고유의 수업 스타일을 만들어내고 있었다. 특히 ‘지식다움’과 ‘교육다움’에 대한 교사의 신념체계에 따라 즐거운 수업은 또 다른 수업딜레마를 형성하는 지점이 되기도 하였다.
