콕스가 휴전선에 간 까닭: 한반도 비평화 구조와 그 작동양식 = Why Robert Cox Has Been to the Military Demarcation Line?: The Structure Against Peace and Its Operational Pattern in the Korean Peninsula

This article aims to explain structurally and critically the grounds for the continuous military and ideological confrontation and conflict in the Korean peninsula after the division. To achieve this, the ‘historical structure’ theory of Robert Cox has been utilized. From the analysis the following three points were founded.


First of all, the structure against peace in the Korean peninsula is the historical construction that has been formed and developed through physical capacity, ideology, and system, and it is a place for the interaction between the related stakeholders. Secondly, the structure in the peninsula appears in three dimensions, namely the social power, the state, and the world order. These three facets take on different aspects under different contexts. After the end of the Cold War the interaction among the three facets has been formless and the structure against peace is continuing rather than changing. Thirdly, an appearance of an alternative system and a formation of a slight link between the three dimensions are going to be variables of the change of the structure in the Korean peninsula. This requires organizing the progressive social power at home and abroad.
