결혼이주여성의 사회문화적 요구를 반영한 한국어 문화교육의 효과 - 아시아권 출신 이주여성을 중심으로 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 결혼이주여성의 사회문화적 요구를 반영한 한국어 문화교육 및 그 효과에 관한 연구로서, 언어문화교육에 관한 이론을 기초로 매체언어교육으로서 드라마를 활용한 한국어 문화 교육을 초급 수준의 아시아권 출신 결혼이주여성 학습자를 대상으로 적용 후, 그에 따른 한국어 언어기능과 한국어 및 한국문화 이해도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하여 결혼이주여성의 요구에 부합하는 한국어 문화교육을 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 한국에서의 문화적, 사회적 기대는 여성 이주자에게는 매우 낯선 것이며 그들은 이와 관련 하여 크고 작은 어려움에 놓이게 된다. 이들 중 가장 직접적 어려움은 의심할 여지없이 언어 문제이다. 이에 본 연구는 부산, 대구, 경남 지역 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 3개 한국어 교육기관을 선정하여 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나눈 뒤, 동질성 검증을 거쳐 진행하였다. 또한 드라마 활용 한국어 문화 수업을 6차시에 걸쳐 실험처치 후 한국어 언어기능과 한국어 및 한국문화 이해도에 미치는 영향을 사전, 사후로 비교 검증하였다. 먼저, 본 연구의 드라마 활용 한국어 문화 수업에 대한 효과를 실증적으로 검증한 결과, 실험 집단의 한국어 언어기능과 한국어 및 한국문화 이해도가 유의미하게 상승했다. 다만, 한국어 언어기능의 추론하기 영역에서는 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않아 드라마 활용 한국어 문화 수업적용 차이에 따른 효과가 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않았다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 전반적으로 한국어 언어기능과 한국어 및 한국문화 이해도에서 상승효과가 있는 것으로 확인되어 결혼이주여성의 실생활과 관련된 사회문화적 요구를 반영한 한국어 문화 수업방식은 결혼이주여성 학습자에게 언어기능과 한국문화에 대한 습득능력을 증대시키고 동기 부여를 할 수 있는 교수방법인 것으로 확인되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is about the cultural language education based on socio-cultural need of marriage migrant women and its effect. Based on theories about cultural language education, subjects of this study are marriage migrant women from Asia who are learning Korean via cultural language education watching Korean soap opera. By understanding the effect of this cultural language education on the level of Korean proficiency and comprehension of Korean culture, this study aims to provide a better cultural language education based on needs of marriage migrant women. Marriage migrant women are unfamiliar with various cultural and societal expectations in Korea, and such unfamiliarity begets problems for them. The biggest problem is language. This study picked subjects in Busan, Daegu, and Kyungnam area and assigned subjects into experimental group and control group in three different Korean education centers and tested using equivalence check. Also, the study compared proficiency in Korean language and understanding of culture on subjects before and after cultural language education using soap opera. First, the experimental group had significant improvement on their understanding of the language and culture analyzing the effect of cultural language education using soap opera. But, inference ability on Korean was not significantly improved suggesting that cultural language education using soap opera might be ineffective. But, the cultural language education is proven to have a positive effect on understanding of Korean culture and language ability overall, the study concludes that cultural language education based on needs of marriage migrant women is effective in teaching Korean culture and language. Also, it provides a motivation to learn Korean for marriage migrant women.
