대학생의 투표행태에 나타난 보수와 진보의 이념갈등 = The Ideological Conflict between Conservatives and Progressives in University Students' Votingfor the 19th General Election

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생 설문조사를 통해 2012년 4월에 실시된 제19대 총선에서 보수와 진보의 이념갈등이 어떻게 나타났는지를 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 이념성향에 따라 보수 성향과 진보성향 대학생집단으로 구분하여 각 집단에서 새누리당관련 태도변인들(새누리당에 대한 태도, 새누리당후보에 대한 태도)이 야권연대관련 태도변인들(야권연대에 대한 태도, 야권연대후보에 대한 태도)과 어떤 관계를 갖고 있으며, 이러한 변인들이 각 집단의 후보지지와 정당지지에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 보수성향과 진보성향 대학생집단 모두에서 새누리당관련 태도변인들과 야권연대관련 변인들간의 유의미한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다. 다음으로 회귀분석결과, 보수성향과 진보 성향 대학생집단의 투표행태는 자신의 이념성향과 같은 정당 및 후보에 대한 태도변인들과 자신의 이념성향과 다른 정당 및 후보변인으로부터 모두 영향을 받았다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과의 시사점을 보수와 진보의 이념갈등의 측면에서 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the ideological conflicts between conservatives and progressives in university students’ voting for the 19th General Election by an empirical analysis. Specifically, according to their ideological orientations, it divided the sample into three groups (i.e., conservatives, centrists, and progressives), and analyzed what factors affected each group’s voting behaviors. The results showed no significant correlations between conservative-related attitudes (attitudes toward conservative party and candidate) and progressive-related attitudes (attitudes toward progressive party and candidate) in both conservative and progressive groups. Also, the regression analyses demonstrated that participants’ voting behaviors were affected by conservative-related attitudes as well as progressive-related attitudes. Lastly, the findings were discussed from the perspective of the ideological conflicts between conservatives and progressives.
