사회문제 인식을 위한 영화 활용에 대한 연구 : K 대학 수업 사례를 중심으로 = A Study on the Use of Movies to Recognize Social Issues : A Case of K University Classes

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 학생들이 사회문제에 관심을 갖고 인식할 수 있도록 도와주기 위해 영화의 활용을 강조하였다. 사회문제 해결을 도모하기 전에 사회문제에 대한 인식과 자각이 선행되어야 한다. 이를 위해 차별과 환경오염이라는 사회문제를 주제로 한 영화를 활용하였고 사회인식을 자각할 수 있는 수업 활동을 제시하였다. 수업 절차는 준비단계, 사회문제 인식활동 단계, 마무리 단계로 구성되었다. 사회문제 인식 활동은 토론 활동 및 특정 주제와 관련된 다른 영상 탐색 활동으로 구성되었다. 사회문제 인식을 위해 영화를 활용한 수업에 대한 학습자들의 태도를 고찰하기 위해 양적 분석과 질적 분석 방법을 사용하였다. 설문조사와 자가평가 저널을 분석한 연구 결과 학습자들은 사회문제 인식을 위해 영화를 활용한 것에 전반적으로 만족도가 높게 나타났으며(71.8%) 이러한 만족의 이유로는 사회문제 자각에 실질적 도움, 학습자 실생활과의 높은 관련성, 재미와 관심인 것으로 나타났다. 사회문제 인식에 도움이 된 수업 활동으로는 사회문제 토론 활동(37.5%)과 다른 영상 탐색 활동(25%), 사회문제 리뷰 활동(21.9%) 순으로 높게 나타났다. 사회문제 인식을 위해 영화를 활용할 경우 고려해야 할 교육적 제언을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study emphasizes the use of movies to help students become aware of and interested in social issues. An awareness of social issues must come before attempts to find solutions, and for this purpose, the study employed movies about social issues such as discrimination and environmental pollution, with class activities designed to raise social awareness. The bank of social issue awareness activities consisted of discussion activities and video exploration activities related to specific social topics. A qualitative analysis that employed questionnaire and self-evaluation journal methods was used to examine learners' attitudes toward the classes. The results demonstrated learners’ overall high satisfaction with using movies to raise awareness of social issues (71.8%). The factors behind this satisfaction were the practical help in recognizing social issues, the high relevance to learners' real lives, and the elements of fun and captivation. Educational suggestions to be considered when using movies to raise awareness of social issues were presented.
