백장과 임제의 선사상에 대한 소고(小考) = A Study on the Chan(禪)-Thought of Lin-ji(臨濟) and Baizhang(百丈)

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of the `Baizhang(百丈)`on the `Lin-ji Yi-xuan(臨濟義玄)` through revealing the similarities and differences between the `Xinxingguan(心性觀)` and the `Xiuzhenglun(修證論)`
For this purpose, similarities were compared and analyzed. These similarities act as good materials to discover similarities and differences between the two zen monks. Many of these similarities are found mutually.
Through this analysis, we can learn that the Xinxingguan of Baizhang and Lin-ji can be characterized as `Xinxing-wuran(心性無染)`, `Wuwei-Zhenren(無位眞人)` and they all emphasize the awakening of `Zhongdao(中道)` and `Benlai-chengfo(本來成佛)` of `Zushi-Chan(祖師禪)`
Their Xiuzhenglun can be summarized as `Taobuyongxiu(道不用脩)` and `Wuxiu-wuzheng(無修無證)`, which are both negative for `Xiuzheng(修證)` and both stand for `Dunwu-Benxing(頓悟本性)`.
Baizhang emphasized the position of the sattva toward Buddha, and furthermore he asked to put everything down. Lin-ji said to watch the truth `right now` and emphasized more `Zhenru(眞如)` itself. Lin-ji`s thought shows the spirit of `Zhizhi-Renxin(直指人心)` even more thoroughly.
Inheriting Baizhang`s `Shafuhaimu(殺父害母)`, `Wuwujianzui(五無間罪)` and `Sanju(三句)`, Lin-ji developed his own thought: a more systematic, logical and creative way.
