    Objectives This study aimed to reconstruct and validate a professionalism scale for school counselors in South Korea.
    Methods Participants included 205 school counselors from elementary, middle, and high schools across 17 regions in South Korea. We conducted exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses and examined the scale's reliability and validity.
    Results A four-factor, 16-item structure (professional competence, ethical practice, engagement in professional scholarly associations, and social recognition) was identified. Scale scores were significantly associated with burnout and interpersonal competence.
    Conclusions The validated scale provides a foundational tool for systematically assessing school counselors’ perceived professionalism and for informing education and research aimed at enhancing their professional competence.
