한국대학원리연구회 정향성에 대한 한 연구 : 개신교 대학선교단체와 비교 중심으로 = (A) study on the Orientation goal of CARP : In comparison with protestant university missionary groups

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis deals with progressive orientation goal of CARP, reflecting activities of university missionary groups of Protestantism and Unification Church.
The purpose of foundation of Collegeate Association for the Research of Principle states that CARP seeks for the search of the view of true life, the model of true university students and establishment of new culture by studying all fundamental truths of humanities, social and natural science and art based on Divine Principle.
In order to achieve this purpose, CARP had led many activities such as lectures of Divine Principle, Divine Principle workshops in summer and winter vacation, campus missionary activities, anticommunism campaign and seminar, international exchange throughout the world to settle down Movement of Divine Principle and build favorable surroundings at campus until the middle of 1980s.
From 1966 to the middle of 1980, CARP established the missionary foundation at campuses developing various instructing programme based on Divine Principle.
However, since the middle of 1980 CARP unfortunately have been defeated in ideological struggle, demonstration and rally against radical groups of inclination to the left. At those days CARP was expelled from the society of universities and lost the ground of movement. Despite the incident CARP movement has tried to settle down the society of universities and gather a main stream for Unification.
While CARP focused the evangelization of Divine Principle until the middle of 1980s, after then it turned into the common society. According to the thesis, the evangelical situation at campus is changing rapidly with the change of an historical period.
Most of the missionary groups began to recognize the need of more effective responses and sympathized that the influence of evangelistic activities at campus didn't maximize more than the past.
At the middle of 1990s, the number of Churches in Korea began to decrease, and the missionary groups at campus also decreased.
Since the middle of 1990s, nearly all the missionary groups in Korea have congested or decreased in the number of church members except for a few groups.
Negative attitudes to the social affairs of the missionary groups as well as social and periodical situations have had an influence on the decrease.
Missionary groups in Korea should put their more energy on the mission activities for restoration of the nation, social salvation and service as well as their church members and their church. In this respect, both CARP of Unification Church and other mission groups of the Protestantism should find a new orientation goal about evangelism to maximize the impact of gospel in order to achieve the restoration of individual and society. Therefore, pursuing the new view of point about evangelism is very important in missionary activities.
The new orientation goal about evangelism of CARP follows below. Firstly, the road map of evangelism and social activities are introduced giving examples of the activity case of the South Block.
Secondly, common purpose of activities of other missionary groups such as CCC, UBF, IVF is to reproduce the disciples who will be dedicated to evangelism. CARP should also focus to train the disciples who will be dedicated to evangelism. At the same time, CARP should treat internally the lack of confidence of Divine Providence which providential delay causes.
The new orientation goal of evangelism of CARP in 2005 through mission and instruction of new and established members outside the university society enables CARP to overcome the prejudices of other missionary groups and find many good people outside the university. However, it is doubtable whether new members are used to the four-hearted sphere through instruction and training.
The established members should be confident of the realization of large family society of human beings, in other words, final destination of Divine Providence to achieve the true direction of true family based on four -hearted sphere.
Confidence of Divine Providence enables new members to establish the centralization of true family culture and overcome the circumstantial problems caused by external situations.
CARP have faced the positive change under the leadership by chairman Moon Hyun Jin.
WSTF and Jr-STF has been changing the culture of Unification Church. The members of WSTF have created a new vision of faith through experiences happening in the real lives and instruction of true heart.
Concrete activities for orientation goal of CARP should be acted and successful mission strategies of other Protestant groups should be studied and enacted in order to make these changes have an real influence on the university mission.
In the future, the process of verification about performance and effect is needed so that this study should be recognized as the mission strategy.
The necessity of concrete study for verification needs to be remain the necessary assignment.
