다문화시대 판소리의 재인식과 문화적 가치 탐색

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 판소리에 내재된 다문화적 성격과 가치를 발견하여 단일민족의 고유한 전통문화라는 고정 관념을 극복하고 다문화시대에 대응하는 문화적 가치를 탐색하고자 한 것이다. 판소리는 근대화의 과정에서 한국문화의 독자성, 우수성을 강조하기 위하여 중요 무형문화재로 지정되고 한국의 대표적 정전으로 확립되었다. 이 과정에서 판소리의 문화적 다양성, 개방성, 탈경계화 등의 다층적 가치는 축소되고, 한국어의 아름다움, 민족적 정서, 독자적 형식 등이 집중적으로 부각되었다.
본고에서는 다문화시대 판소리의 가치를 재인식하기 위해서 판소리의 형성과정, 구성 방식, 외부문화 수용을 분석하였다. 첫째, 판소리 형성과정을 통해서 상하층의 담론이 교차하고, 여러 장르가 교섭하는 다양성과 개방성의 가치를 탐색하였다. 둘째, 판소리 공연의 구성방식을 분석하여 광대, 고수, 관객의 경계를 해체하는 ‘탈경계화’와 개별성과 독자성을 인정하면서 완결된 서사를 지향하는 ‘부분의 독자성’을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 〈적벽가〉와 〈사천가〉를 분석하여 판소리가 외부문화를 수용하여 자신의 정체성을 확장하는 자기 갱신의 성격을 지니고 있음을 논증하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conceived to discover multicultural nature and value inherent in Pansori, overcome the stereotype that it is the unique traditional culture of Korea, a homogeneous nation, and explore its cultural values corresponding to the multicultural age. Pansori was designated as a major intangible cultural asset and established as part of the people’s legitimate heritage in the process of modernization to highlight the individuality and superiority of Korean culture. The process concealed its multilayer values such as cultural diversity, openness, and trans-boundaries and intensively brought the beauty of Korean language, Korea’s national sentiment, and original formats to the front.
This study analyzed the formation process, organizational method, and acceptance of other cultures of Pansori to renew the perceptions of its value in the multicultural age. First, the investigator explored the values of diversity and openness of Pansori, which allow the upper and lower class discourse to intersect and various genres to interchange in the formation process of Pansori. Secondly, the organizational method of Pansori performance was analyzed to understand trans-boundaries, which breaks down boundaries among the clown, drummer and audience, and individuality of a part, which seeks out a complete narrative while acknowledging haecceity and individuality. Finally, the cases of Jeokbyeokga and Sacheonga were analyzed to demonstrate that Pansori has a self-updating quality to accept other cultures and expand its own identity.
