동남아지역 철도사업 진출을 위한 협궤 선로기준 정립에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Establishment of Narrow-gauge Track Standard for an Entry into the Southeast Asian Rail Business market

국문 초록 (Abstract)

협궤 선로를 사용하는 국가는 인도, 일본, 동남아시아 등 전 세계 17만km(15%) 이상이다. 일본을 제외하고 협궤를 사용하는 대부분의 국가는 유지관리 및 시설투자 미비로 인한 시설 노후화로 조속한 개량 및 현대화가 필요한 실정이다. 최근 동남아시아를 중심으로 국가간 철도연결 및 기존 철도개량사업이 활발히 추진되고 있으나 선로설계기준이 없는 국가가 많고 인접국가간 기준이 상이한 문제가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 주요 국가의 협궤철도의 선로기준 비교 및 이론적 분석을 통하여 경제적이고 실용적이며 국가간 철도 연결의 일관성 확보가 가능한 협궤 선로설계기준을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 최근 활발히 진행되고 있는 협궤 철도 개량사업 진출시 유용하게 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Most Southeast Asian countries that use narrow-gauge tracks have pursued the upgrading of the deteriorated tracks and international rail links, but their track design standards are not good enough in quality and different from one another. In this study, we intend to provide a narrow-gauge track standard which is economical and practical and by which the consistency of international rail connections can be secured. For this purpose, we will compare and theoretically analyze major countries’ track standards. We believe that this standard could be very useful for companies that try to enter the narrow-gauge rail upgrading business market.
