척수장애 남편을 둔 배우자의 돌봄 경험 = A Study on the Experience of Spouses Care Giving their Husband with Spinal Cord Injuries

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This is a qualitative research on the experience of spouses nursing their husband with spinal cord injuries. Study subjects are eight spouses nursing their husband with spinal cord injuries. As a study method, this author employed grounded theory, one of the qualitative research methods. For data analysis, the procedure of grounded theory methodology was adopted, and the data were collected for five months from November, 2014 until late March in 2015. As a result of open coding, total 57 concepts, 32 subcategories, and 13 superordinate categories were drawn. As the nuclear category in selective coding, they chose ``into the world facing the limitations of care-giving``. As practical strategies, it is needed to provide psychological counseling according to the spouses`` steps of caregiving, implement programs for husbands, those actually suffering from spinal cord injuries, make plans to support school-age children, and devise measures to reduce the ``care-giving`` burden of spouses to those with spinal cord injuries. As political suggestions, this study emphasizes it is necessary to induce implement respite care programs to support burnout families, transtels (transition + hostels) that are the form of half-way-houses for those with spinal cord injuries, hire manpower for peer counseling to cultivate coaches for everyday life, and also provide support for medical fees for the spouses as well.
