한국 근대적 음악계의 형성과 분화

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 1930년대를 전후한 식민지 한국에서 근대적 음악계가 형성되는 과정 및 그 특성을 사회학적으로 분석하였다. 근대적 음악계가 한국에서 본격적으로 모습을 갖추기 시작한 것은 식민지하의 1930년대였다. 과거로부터 내려온 전통음악에 덧붙여 서양음악이 도입되고 당시 새롭게 등장한 대중음악의 활발한 전개 속에서 근대적 음악계는 형성되었다. 본 논문은 근대적 음악계의 특성 중에서도 장르의 구분이 명확해지는 과정과 아울러 작곡가와 가수의 관계가 변화하는 과정을 분석하였다. 당시 녹음된 유성기 음반의 자료를 사회연결망 분석을 이용하여 분석한 결과 시간의 흐름에 따라 서로 다른 장르간의 경계 구분이 명확해지고 동일 장르 내의 상호작용이 활발해지는 경향을 발견하였으며, 작곡자와 가수 간의 관계는 대중음악계의 불확실성을 반영하여 지속적으로 재편된다는 것을 발견하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We examine the formation and differentiation of the modern music world in colonial Korea in the 1930s. While the legacy of traditional music Persisted Korean modern music world was also heavily influenced by the newly introduced Western music and Japanese popular music. The modern music world in Korea evolved in that mixture. We focus on the boundary dynamics among different musical genres and the relational dynamics between composers and singers. Our analysis of two-mode network data (genre-singer, genrecomposer, and composer-singer) reveals that, our analysis find that the boundary between genres became more established over time and that the relationship between composers and singers showed limited stability reflecting the high level of uncertainty in the popular music market.
