The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between maternal Self-Perception Profile and Parenting Behaviors of kindergarten children. The subjects were 112 mothers of kindergarten children. The instruments used for this study were Self-Perception Profile for adults revised by Han et Hong(2000) and Parenting Behaviors revised by Hong(1995). The results were as follows. 1. Self-perception Profile of mothers were influenced by their educational level, monthly income, child`s sex and birth order. 2. Maternal Parenting Behaviors were influenced by job, educational level, income, and child`s sex. 3. Self-Perception Profile showed significant relationships with Maternal Parenting Behaviors as followings; 1) Adequate Provider, Job Competence were positively related with Reasoning Guidance. Adequate Provider was positively related with Limit Setting. Adequate Provider, Job Competence, Global Self-Worth were positively related with Parent Involvement and Intimacy. Job Competence, Nurturance, Global Self-Worth were positively related with Responsiveness. 2) Morality was negatively related with Reasoning Guidance. Limit Setting, Parent Involvement and Intimacy. Sociability was negatively related with Reasoning Guidance. 4. The canonical correlation analysis showed that maternal Self-Perception Profile explained 15% of their Parenting Behaviors.
