국제결혼이주여성의 한국생활적응 유형에 관한 연구 = A Research on the Korean Life Adjustment Patterns of Married Immigrant Women

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean life adjustment patterns among 25 married immigrant women who lived in the Chun-An area in Korea for over one year. It was found that life adjustment patterns depended on the level of interaction with others in the community, particularly neighbors. When subjects had few interactions with others, they appeared to be more satisfied and adjusted. When the exhibited high interaction with others, the subjects appeared as more unadjusted.
Psychological adjustment patterns were revealed at a low level of conflict between marriage partners and with characteristics unique to each situation. On the other hand, psychological patterns of maladjustment were indicated by feelings of low satisfaction for the relationship or when there was someone who could counsel the women during a difficult time in their marriage.
The paper concludes that family welfare support services should be tailored to enhance married immigrant women's life satisfaction and positive psychological adjustment patterns. The service should be systematic and long term. There is a definite need for resources to support social networks among the women in order to help them adjust to Korean society and take advantage of opportunities that avail themselves to them.
