맞벌이 기혼여성의 시간사용과 결혼생활 만족도에 관한 연구 = A Study on Time Use and Marital Satisfaction of Married Working Women

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 여성가족패널조사자료 3차(2009년) 자료를 이용하여, 맞벌이 기혼여성의 시간사용이 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이 연구는 결혼만족도의 주요 결정요인인 시간사용을 시장노동시간, 가사노동시간, 여가시간으로 구분하여 시간의 영향력을 정교하게 분석하려는 시도를 한다. 이 연구는 그 동안 결혼만족도의 결정요인으로 알려졌던 젠더의식 및 인구사회학적 변인들을 통제하고도, 시간사용과 관련된 요소들이 결혼만족도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 보여준다. 주요 연구결과는 첫째, 맞벌이 부부에게 여성의 시장노동시간의 증가 그 자체는 결혼만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수가 아니라는 사실을 확인하였으며, 둘째, 여성의 가사노동시간이 아닌, 남편과의 가사노동시간의 차이가 커질수록 결혼만족도가 크게 떨어진다는 점이다. 연구결과의 시사점은 시장노동시간의 증가로 인한 시간의 부족 그 자체보다는 시장노동시간 이외의 시간들을 부부 간에 어떻게 분배하고 공유하는 지가 결혼생활만족도에 영향을 준다는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research examines the effects of time use of married working women on their marital satisfaction, analyzing the data from the 3rd National Women and Family's Panel(2009). The research tries to elaborate the effects of time use on marital satisfaction through classifying time use into labor market time, household work time, and leisure time. The research shows that factors related to time use are statistically significant, although controlling variables of gender consciousness and demographic and socio-economic characteristics which have been known as critical determinants of marital satisfaction. Major findings of the research are as follows: First, the increase of working time in labor market itself is not a statistically significant variable influenced on marital satisfaction. Secondly, one of statistically significant factors on marital satisfaction is not wife's household work hours but the difference of household work hours between husband and wife. In conclusion, the research suggests that marital satisfaction depends on how couples allocate and share time in household each other.
