자기결정이론에 근거한 초등학생용수학학습동기검사의 동기유형 및 양호도 검증 = Development and Validation of Mathematics Motivation Measurement Instrument based on Self-Determination Theory

The purposes of this study are (1) to develop mathematics motivation measurement instrument, developed based on Self-Determination Theory, (2) to confirm component factors of the construct proposed by the SDT, and (3) to test the goodness of the developed measurement instrument. The results of the confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the 8-factor model with two items double-loaded in amotivation and external regulation factors and the 8-factor model without those double-loaded items had the best model fit indices. These models were recommended since they had best model fit indices and were consistent with the theoretical model proposed by Vallerand et. al(1992).
The Cronbach's alphas, reliability measures for the overall test and the component factors, were high enough to satisfy the requirement for the test as a measurement instrument for mathematics motivation. Also, the item discrimination indices, which were correlation coefficients between individual items and the overall scores, turned out to be appropriate for most items. Finally, the correlation between mathematics motivation inventory scores and mathematics achievement test scores were also significant and higher than the correlation with between mathematics motivation scores and language or social studies achievement scores. These results confirmed the criterion-related validity of the mathematics motivation inventory developed by this study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 8개 동기유형을 제안한 자기결정이론에 근거하여 초등학교 고학년 학생의 수학학습동기를 측정할 수 있는 검사를 개발하고, 그 검사의 요인구조를 비롯한 양호도를 검증하는 것이다. 확인적 요인분석 결과, 2개 문항을 무동기요인과 외부규제 요인에 이중부하시킨 8요인모형 및 2개 문항을 삭제한 8요인모형의 모형적합도가 비교적 좋고 이론과도 부합하므로 이들 8요인구조를 최종적으로 확인하였다. 모든 위계적 요인모형은 부적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 8요인 보다 요인수를 축소한 모형 중 상당수가 모형적합도가 떨어지기는 하지만 수용할만한 것으로 판명되었다. Cronbach 알파계수는 전체 검사 및 요인 검사에 대하여 높은 편이었으며, 각 문항 점수와 전체 점수와의 상관계수로 측정한 문항변별도도 양호하였다. 또한 학생들의 수학학습동기검사 점수는 교사관찰에 의한 수학학습동기 평정 점수와 비교적 높은 상관계수를 보였으며, 수학 내신성적과도 통계적으로 유의한 상관계수를 보여 검사의 준거관련타당도를 확인하였다.
