This study investigates the spatial positioning of citizen-centered smart services within the domestic context, aiming to enhance their strategic planning and implementation. Smart services, which integrate information and communication technology (ICT) across various sectors such as transportation, environmental management, and public safety, play a crucial role in addressing urban challenges.
However, existing initiatives often fail to adequately reflect local spatial characteristics, leading to inefficient resource allocation and redundant service provision, thereby limiting their effectiveness and sustainability.
To address these deficiencies, this study classifies smart services based on spatial units and service typologies, subsequently developing a systematic positioning framework. The findings reveal a lack of a cohesive design strategy that accounts for regional hierarchies and spatial attributes, resulting in suboptimal alignment with citizen needs. Furthermore, the absence of spatially adaptive service frameworks raises concerns regarding operational efficiency, equity in service distribution, and the long-term viability of smart service initiatives.
Building upon the positioning analysis, this study proposes strategic guidelines for the development of citizen-centered smart services and the optimized utilization of smart spaces. By integrating spatial analytics with user-centric considerations, the study provides critical insights into enhancing the efficacy, inclusivity, and sustainability of smart services, thereby contributing to improved urban resilience and quality of life.
