      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The purpose of this study was to analyze current teaching behaviors related to reunification and democratic public education practices in Korean urban and rural region kindergartens. To achieve this purpose, episodes related to reunification and democratic public education were observed in urban and rural kindergartens, via non-structured fashion, 4 times a week, for a total of 16 sessions. As a result of the study, reunification and democratic public education categories were revealed as follows : a) peace and reunification, b) dignity of man, c) public order , and finally d) procedures for reaching agreements. Teacher’s teaching behaviors were analyzed by a qualitative method that focused on the types of current teaching behaviors. Teacher’s teaching behaviors revealed in urban kindergartens were mediating and directive teaching behaviors. And teacher’s teaching behaviors revealed in rural kindergartens were nondirective, mediating and directive teaching behaviors.
