위창 오세창의 전각 연구 = A Study of Oh Sae-chang's Seal-engraving Style

Wichang Oh Sae-Chang‘s, we think that he leaded a calligraphy and seal group in modern calligraphy and paint art history of Korea. The collection and seal and book publication task about the calligraphy paint art history during his artistic activity life for 36years since 1909 until 1945 have great influence on modern stage world of art and calligraphy paint art history.
The works《Geunnyeokseohwi》·《Geunnyeokhwahwi》·《Geunmuk》that he gathered all old calligraphy and paint in Joseon,《Geunnyeoginsu》which gathers the imprint of seal of noted persons from early Joseon to Japan colony period,『Geunnyeokseohwajing』gathered the feed about successive generations calligraphy painting history, also excellent of a historical investigation study of calligraphy paintings and its assessment have great influence on research of the Korea calligraphy painting history.
The life is the point which the owner of the experience exploded an art activity to be the compositeness, do not be great point of his art simple a calligraphy painting artist, the back of a religion activity, the speech activity, the independence sportsman enlightenment, philosopher flight and so on.
First of all, to understand his seal to know his descent. his father Yerkmae Oh kyung-seok, is skillful at compose a poem, painting and took the influence of the seal master such as sealer, Sosan Og yu-il, Deung seok-yeo, Jo ji-gyeom, Oh yang-ji, Jo ji-chim, Seo sam-kyung.
He learned painting seal with the calligraphy easily under the influence of his father, begin to carve 18age seals directly. He made《Chanhwasirinbo》·《Cheolpiljannyeong》·《Ossidanjeon》·《Winoingo》·《Suudanjeon》,he used the fashion of a seal different from the statement seal and expressed each the alias seal. The inscription on the seal was expressed with jin·han country seal, the Geummun, the Gomun, Sojeon, Yeseo and various character style.
He used a square type prototype at the seal painting, oval, pseudo·morph what expressed peculiar seal art which did not exist.
His originality and artistic view point led so that the calligraphy group could develope greatly but there is not many research to treat in him. My paper studies should be of service little to people to learn his seal.
