ABSTRACT

A study on Strengthening Competitiveness of Local Firms in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry

Although Korea hold a key post in the world of manufacturing semiconductor chip industry, most semiconductor equipments are relatively retarded and were imported by the U.S.A, Japan, and The E.U. Most semiconductor equipment firms, which are small and venture business, are caught in vicious circle of poverty due to the lack of qualitative and quantitative growth, because semiconductor equipment business were prospered by a few of big firms. This vicious circle results in the sense of crisis that semiconductor equipment industry might collapse.
