농촌지역 청소년의 자살행동에 영향을 미치는 요인 = 가족을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

청소년 자살은 최근 사회적 문제로 부각되고 있다. 특히 농촌 지역은 가족 결손이 증가하는 상황으로, 이러한 가족 결손이 청소년의 자살 행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 탐색이 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 농촌지역 청소년의 자살행동에 영향을 미치는 다양한 위험요인을 규명하고, 가족 결손과 형제자매 유무의 가족 구성이 자살행동과 위험요인과의 관계에서 조절효과가 있는지를 탐색하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 농촌 지역에 거주하는 중, 고등학생 1,139명으로 이들의 가족 결손, 형제자매 유무, 가족과 친구의 일탈행동, 학교 폭력 가해와 피해, 우울감과 자살 행동을 측정하였다. 그 결과 가족 결손이 있는 청소년은 가족 결손이 없는 청소년에 비해 우울감, 가족의 일탈행동을 높게 보고했으나 자살 행동에 있어서는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 반면 형제자매가 없는 청소년은 형제자매가 있는 청소년에 비해 우울감이 높고 자살 행동도 빈번한 것으로 나타났다. 회귀분석 결과 우울감, 가족과 친구의 일탈행동, 학교폭력 가해와 피해 경험, 형제자매 유무는 자살행동과 유의한 관련을 보였다. 또한 형제자매 유무는 우울감, 지역사회 유해환경, 가족과 친구의 일탈행동, 학교 폭력 피해와의 상호작용을 통해 자살 행동을 조절해주는 변인으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 농촌지역 청소년에게 있어서 형제자매가 자살 행동에 대한 보호요인임을 시사한다. 또한 우울감과 같은 개인 요인 뿐 아니라 또래요인, 가족요인, 지역사회 유해환경의 복합적인 심리사회적 요인이 청소년 자살행동의 발달에 기여한다는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구의 시사점과 향후 연구방향에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Adolescent suicide continues to be a serious public concern. The issue of broken families in rural areas has come to the fore in recent years. The present study explored the risk factors affecting adolescent suicidal behaviors in rural areas. We also looked into whether family composition (structural deficit, presence of siblings) has a moderating effect on the relationship between suicidal behaviors and risk factors. The participants were 1,139 middle and high school students living in G-gun and we investigated their family composition, depression levels, harmful elements of the community environment, school violence levels, deviant behaviors within the family and peer groups and suicidal behaviors.
Depression levels, school violence levels, deviant behaviors within the family and peer groups were significantly associated with suicidal behaviors. The presence of siblings regulated suicidal behavior through interaction with depression levels, harmful elements of the community environment, school violence levels, deviant behaviors within the family and peer group and suicidal behaviors. Taken together, these results indicate that the presence of siblings may perform a protective role in youth suicidal behaviors.
