평생학습 이론의 확장 - 두뇌과학의 시사점 = Expansion of Lifelong Learning Theory - Suggestions from Brain Sciences -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

  평생학습에 대한 정교한 개념과 이론의 구축은 학교를 중심으로 한 기존 교육학의 대안 담론으로서 평생교육학의 위상 정립을 위해서 반드시 필요한 작업이다. 최근 두뇌 과학의 발전은 평생학습에 대한 이론 구성에 중대한 도전을 하고 있다. 본 연구는 최근 비약적으로 발전하고 있는 두뇌 과학 연구로부터 평생학습의 이론 구성을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 학습경험과 학습과정의 두 측면으로 나누어 두뇌 과학의 성과를 논의하였다. 그 결과 두뇌과학이 학습자, 학습경험, 학습과정, 학습의 상황 맥락 간의 관계에 대한 새로운 시야를 열어주며, 학습경험을 통해 학습자가 스스로를 어떻게 창조하고 있는가를 탐구하는 ‘평생학습 경험조직론’의 필요성을 제안했다. ‘평생학습 경험조직론’은 두뇌지도와 같이 평생학습의 지도를 고유한 개념 창조를 통해 만들어야 하며 이는 학습경험의 상황 맥락을 탐구하는 ‘평생학습 문화론’과 동시에 추구 되어야 함을 제시했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

  Lifelong education research requires elaborated concepts and theory on lifelong learning in order to position itself as an alternative discourse to the given school-oriented educational research. Recent development of brain sciences challenges lifelong learning theory-building. This study aims to find implications of neurobiological insights into the lifelong learning research. The author reviews various brain researches in terms of learning experience and learning process. As a result, the author argues that brain sciences open a new perspective on the learner, learning experience, learning process, and learning context. Also the author argues that a research on the construction of lifelong learning experiences is required in order to explore how learners are creating themselves through constructing their own learning experiences. This research topic needs to map lifelong learning with new concepts. It also requires a study on the lifelong learning culture in which learning experiences are embedded.
