Recent elevated interests in human happiness have led to a variety of studies on the quality of life. Psychological wellbeing, which was claimed by Ryff(1989), is composed of 6 barometers which measure the quality of life. The purpose of this study is to look into the operating principles of brain on psychological wellbeing and figure out the usefulness and possibility of the brain education. To pursue the purpose, first of all, the concept of psychological wellbeing and previous researches have been analyzed and the relationships of the six elements of psychological wellbeing with parts of the brain and multiple intelligences have been studied. Secondly, through the effect analysis of brain respiration which is one of the major programs of brain education, what kinds of effects the brain education has on the psychological wellbeing has been searched. The research has proved that the psychological wellbeing is related with the limbic system and the frontal lobe of the brain, which also have keen relations with Interpersonal intelligence and Intrapersonal intelligence which are parts of multiple intelligence. And also brain respiration, which shares the merits of the meditative factors, has shown that it has emotional effects on the promotion of the psychological wellbeing, which are mostly identical to the purposes of each phase of brain respiration. Accordingly, brain education, which gives direction to how to make efficient use of the brain including the improvement of the brain functions, has clearly shown that it has enough possibility to improve psychological wellbeing from the view point of the theoretical and methodological aspects.
