음악대학원생들의 다문화에 대한 태도와 다문화 음악선호도와의 관계 = Relationship between Multicultural Attitudesand Multicultural Music Preferenceamong Korean Music Graduates

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between multicultural attitudes and multicultural music preference of Korean music graduates (n=60). The Munroe Multicultural Attitude Scale Questionnaire(MASQUE) and Multicultural Music Preference Survey Inventory(MMPSI) were administered to 30 graduate music education majors (Group A) and 30 graduate general music majors (Group B). There were two research questions; "Is there any relationship between multicultural attitudes and multicultural music preference of Korean music graduates?" and "Are there differences between music education majors and general music majors on multicultural attitudes and multicultural music preference?" The results indicated that there was a significant correlation between multicultural attitudes(MASQUE) score and muticultural music preference(MMPSI) score (r=.54, p<.01). Also, there was a statistically significant difference between music education majors and general music majors on multicultural attitudes (F(1, 58)=4.58, p<.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference between music education majors and general music majors on multicultural music preference. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for music education majors and Korean universities.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 현재 대학원에 재학 중인 60명(N=60)의 음악교육 전공생들과 일반음악 전공생들을 대상으로 다문화에 대한 태도(Multicultural Attitudes)와 다문화 음악선호도(Multicultural Music Preference)를 측정한 후, 두 변인 간의 상관관계(Correlation)를 조사해 보았다. 본 연구결과, 두 변인 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계(r=.54, p<.01)가 있는 것으로 나타나 다문화 교육에서 다문화 음악 선호도가 미치는 영향이 상당히 크다는 것을 보여주었다. 또한, 본 연구의 두 집단인 음악교육 전공(그룹 A)과 일반음악 전공(그룹 B)간의 다문화 태도와 다문화 음악선호도의 차이를 일원분산분석(ANOVA) 통계방법을 사용하여 각각 비교 분석해 본 결과, 다문화 음악선호도에서는 두 집단 사이에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났지만, 다문화에 대한 태도에서는 두 집단 사이에 유의수준 .05에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다(F(1, 58)=4.58, p<.05). 이러한 결과는 앞으로 한국의 음악교육을 책임질 음악교육 전공생들을 위해 한국의 대학들이 교과과정에서 더욱 다양한 다문화 음악과 관련된 과목들을 제공할 필요가 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 다음 연구에서는 음악교육 전공생들에게 다문화 음악에 대한 다양한 배움의 방법과 기회들을 제공 할 수 있는 교과과정의 개발이 필요하겠다.
