The most important thing during installation of driven pile and SIP pile using PHC and PC is the drive control that enables pile to drive efficiently and without damage of the pile material. Because drivability influenced by complex conditions such as ground condition, pile material and driving system, pile-ground interaction etc., which is not verified thoroughly, many difficult problems occur during pile installation. This research aims to provide the reasonable strike energy and blow count limitation during pile installation considering ground and pile material characteristics. Also, cost saving method through the optimized driving control and quality confirmation procedure is proposed. Recently, KNHC, Ministry of Construction and Transportation, and Seoul city government introduced the guide regulating WEAP analysis in pile design and installation. However, most of engineers have difficulty to apply in practical situation those methods, because they are not familiar with Wave Equation theory. So the easy WEAP analysis manual provided for practical engineers. This research also introduced the drive control guide for special cases on the soft and hard ground condition. Results of this research are as follows. 1) It is reasonable to select the driving system and check the strike energy, pile length, blow count and stress by way of WEAP analysis then to drive the pile. 2) Driving control guide must be confirmed by dynamic load test and then revised. 3) Some dynamic equation can be used for the quality control of driven pile, if WEAP analysis and dynamic load test were performed preliminary. 4) After driving the pile, set up occurs usually within one week, but relaxation also occurs on the special ground condition like Pohang mud stone. So the variation of the bearing capacity must be checked by the load test after driving. 5) The cost saving of pile foundation by decreasing of pile driving length or number of pile is possible considering set-up effect that increases bearing capacity.
