근대교육에서 국가의 몸 관리와 통제 양식 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 일본 강점기를 중심으로 국가에 의한 학생들의 몸 관리와 통제 양식을 살펴보는 것이다. 근대국가는 학생들을 군인으로 만들기 위해 학생 몸 관리에 적극적으로 개입하였다. 국가적으로 학생의 몸은 국가 자산으로 간주되었으며, 학생 몸의 군사화(militarizing the student body)는 몸 통제와 관리의 주된 목적이었다. 이러한 현상은 식민지 조선에서도 동일하였다. 일제는 식민지 조선의 학생을 군인과 노동자로 동원하기 위하여 학생의 몸에 적극적으로 개입하였다. 학생의 몸 관리는 1938년을 전후로 구분하여 살펴볼 수 있다. 초기에는 예비 전력으로서 학생의 건강과 체위 향상, 위생 등과 같이 신체검사 중심의 소극적인 통제 방식이었다. 그러나 1938년 이후에는 즉각 전투에 투입할 수 있는 군인을 양성하고 선발하는 것으로 그 성격이 바뀌었으며, 이를 위해 무도와 교련 그리고 체력검사를 실시하였다. 일제 강점기 학생의 몸에 대한 통제와 관리 양식의 특징은 첫째, 몸의 표준화와 규율화, 둘째, 성에 따른 차별화, 셋째, 학생 몸의 자본화, 마지막으로 통일된 교복을 통한 통제의 가시화로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper analysis to the mode of control and management of student’s Body in Japanese colonial period. A modern state intervened in student body management aggressively to make students with military personnel. Such the militarization of the student body (militarizing the body) has also occurred identically at modern Korea by Japanese colonial government. Japan intervened in student's body aggressively to mobilize a Korean student by military personnel and a laborer. It is possible to divide Japanese colonial government body control policy. In an early stage, they emphasized the hygiene, health and posture improvement and had a physical check-up. Students were regarded as a reservist power. But its character changed with training and selecting the military personnel who can put it in a battle immediately after 1938. Military arts(武道), military drill(敎鍊) and a physical strength check were emphasized for the mobilization of Chosun student’s body. The characteristics of student's control and management by Japanese colonial government are below: first, the standardization and normalization, sex differentiation, capitalization and visualizing of body control and management.
