In order to understand the conflict between bioethics and life sciences, which is a big issue today, it is essential to know the history of bioethics. This study was conducted to develop teaching materials and evaluate the effects of bioethics education for graduate students(n=54) for two hours in IRB(Institutional Review Board) ac Kyungnam University. Self-report questionnaire was composed of 5 items, and results are as follows : `I have never heard of the IRB before education` was 72.2%(n=39), and `An understanding of the education contents` was very good 51.9%(n=28), good 37%(n=20), and fair 11.1%( n=28). The intention to introduce the lecture to others` was 88.9%(n=48). Based on these positive findings, our results will be useful as a basis for the expansion of the university bioethics education to recognize the sanctity of life and to promote responsible conduct of research through bioethics education.
