It was the his father’s influence that made Park In Jin enter the Chendo-kyo. His farther, was from HoNam, had a narrow escape from participating the Dong-Hak revolution and kept a low profile in Hamkyong Province. He told his the stories about Su-Wun Choi Jae-Wu and Hewol Choi Si Hyeong to his son as well as story of his experience, from these Park In Jin became understood the Dong-Hak naturally, and in 1905, when he was 19, entered the Chendo-kyo, sought to live a man of religion.
After entering the Cheondo-kyo, he thoroughly lived a religious life, starting from a religious worker of the Kapsangun Diocese. He was a financier of Poongsangun Diocese as well as of Kapsangun Diocese while after 3ㆍ1 Movement he consistently carried out his responsibility to the fullest as a religious worker. Especially, he devoted himself to active in propagating Chendo-kyo after 3ㆍ1 Movement, and through this, expanded his influence to Kapsan, Poongsan, Samsoo and Changbai in Manchuria, which were under his control. Moreover, he organized actively the youth associations that were bases of youth movement leading to new cultural movement in 1920’s. He also participated in youth movement as a member of labor committee of Poongsan department of Cheondo-kyo youth party. As a result of his religious activities, he achieved the nickname of ‘YoungbukDoJeoung’.
Park In Jin also participated in national movement as well as religious movement. He led the Cheer Movement in Poonsan, when Son Byeong-Hee, the leader of Cheondo-kyo, and main religious leaders participated in 3ㆍ1 Movement. Although we could not ascertain the role of these movement because of lack of examination records and written judgments, to a certain degree we find out the his role through Maen Si Jeong who participated in cheer movement with him. Park In Jin was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in Hamheung Prison for participating in 3ㆍ1 Movement. In the mid of 1930’s, though he did not represent the party of Cheondo-kyo, he actively organized the branch of Fatherland Restoration Association in his area, uniting with Korean Fatherland Association in Manchuria. In the situation of inclining toward the trend of pro-Japanese, it was certain that there were many conflicts in Cheondo-kyo with self-sacrifice in the name of the independence. As a result, he again was arrested and killed by Japanese police. Park In Jin devoted his life to religious and national life through Cheondo-kyo.
