Polymers such as polyacrylate, polysaccharide, polyamino acid and polypeptide are widely used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical. They were used for viscosity agent, emulsifying agent and carriers for delivery of drugs. However we studied polymer as activity agent, especially synthesized poly(aspartic acid). Poly(aspartic acid) is one of biocompatible synthetic polymer and is water-soluble polyamide containing carboxylic pendants that can be prepared form polysuccinimide, the polycondensate of aspartic acid monomer, by hydrolysis. In this study, we prepared the poly(aspartic acid) derivatives conjugated with L-lysine or L-lyine and other materials. The chemical sturucture of these polymers were confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. And we could estimate that these novel poly(aspartic acid) derivatives had the stimulation effect of type Ⅰ collagen biosynthesis and MMP-1(collagenase) inhibition activity.
