인포그래픽의 표현 유형에 따른 건강증진 행동 영향 연구 - 중동호흡기증후군 관련 공공 인포그래픽을 중심으로 - = An Analysis of the Relationships between Types of Infographics and Health-Promoting Behaviors - Focussing on Public Health Campaigns regarding Middle East Respiratory Syndrome -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

고령화 사회의 진전에 따라 더욱 많은 관심의 대상이 되는 건강정보에 있어서는 정보의 인지 및 그에 따른 건강행동 실천 여부가 매우 중요하다. 과거 건강정보가 의료전문가에 의해 일방적으로 전달되는 것이었다면 현대사회의 변화된 미디어 환경은 건강정보의 의미를 확장시켰고 정보 수용자들로 하여금 적극적인 활동을 통해 건강정보 습득이 가능한 채널을 갖게 하였다. 방대한 데이터를 접해야 하는 상황에서 정보를 시각화하여 전달하는인포그래픽의 역할은 더욱 중요해졌다. 본 연구에서는 인포그래픽의 각 유형이 건강증진 행동 변화에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 인포그래픽을 통해 전달되는 정보는 건강증진 행동 가운데에 ‘질병관리행동’과 ‘위생관리행동’에는 영향을 미쳤으나 ‘신체활동’을 실천하는 데에는 영향을 주지 못했다. ‘질병관리행동’에 있어서는 ‘비교분석형’이 가장 큰 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고 ‘위생관리행동’에 효과적인 유형은 ‘비주얼스토리텔링형’인 것으로분석되었다. 인포그래픽을 유형 별로 적절히 활용함으로써 일반대중으로 하여금 건강정보를 효율적으로 습득하고 건강증진 행동을 실천할 수 있게 할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Regarding the growth high attention for health information as the population ages rapidly,recognition of information and personal health practices are of great importance. Evolving mediaenvironment of modern society has extended the meaning of “health information” so that thereceivers thereof have various channels through which they can obtain information by engagingin active participation, while traditionally they have been dependent solely on heatlth careprofessionals for information. Infographic, as an efficient tool to visualize and present complexdata, is playing an increasingly important role today where the general public is exposed to avast amount of data. This article examines how the designs and main components of differentinfographics can affect the adoption, control and execution of health-promoting behaviors of thereaders/viewers, based on the Health Belief Model. The findings of this study suggest thatinformation conveyed through infographics has effects on illness and hygiene care. In contrast,such information did not significantly affect participation in physical activities. Among variouselements of infographics, 'Comparative Analysis' was found to be the most effective method forimproving illness care and 'Visual Storytelling' the best strategy for enhancing hygiene care. It isexpected that the use of appropriate types of infographics would enable the public to effectivelyobtain health information and practice health-promoting behaviors.
